The beginning

I sat this blog up over a year ago and promptly forgot about it. But, somehow, I ran across it again and decided to give it a go. My thinking is this will be a good way to show off things I am passionate about: my family, my friends and photography of anything that will stand still.
I began taking pictures about 15 years ago after I bought my husband a new camera. For some reason, I started picking it up and taking it everywhere I went. Before long, I was taking pictures at baseball games and one thing led to another until a camera became a permanent part of my body. I am very rarely without one; most of time, I have two. I just love to take pictures.
I started with a film camera and moved to a digital right after they began to get popular, way back in 1999. I have since upgraded and continue to lust after the "latest and greatest" equipment.
I have been very fortunate in my job careers, as they have all allowed me to use my camera in one form or another.
For several years, I have been shooting high school football and do not think I could ever just sit in the bleachers again. The rush of being in the middle of the action and surrounded by the players and their energy is just the greatest. I was able to shoot all of my son, Zachary's, football career and am still shooting my baby, Murphy, as he is a sophomore and has a couple more years to play.
I also have shot several weddings and parties.
Weddings are the most stressful thing in the world to shoot because there is no "do over." You get one chance to do a good job and that is it.
My favorite things to shoot are kids and seniors. But, I like doing nature pictures as well. Flowers generally do not give you a hard time, sit still for the most part and follow directions. With nature pictures, you never have to coax a smile or dry a tear. So, when I am really stressed out, I grab my camera and hunt pretty nature scenes to take pictures of. It just calms me down like nothing else.
Along the way, I will post some off my favorite pictures as well as new things I do. But, this is not going to be just another photographer's site. I want to share my stories with anyone who is willing to read.
